La vie rêvée de Nougaro

4/5 (1 ratings)

This documentary plunges into the intimacy of a major singer and poet, who never ceased to renew himself. A trailblazer, embracing all the music of the world, Claude Nougaro is the inventor of an open and mixed song. In 1962, at the height of the yéyé period, he hit the airwaves with four huge hits, "Une petite fille", "Le Jazz et la Java", "Les Don Juan" and "Le Cinéma". But Claude is also a loner, a man who keeps from his childhood wounds never healed. As a child in the suburbs of Toulouse in the early 1940s, he suffered from the absence of his parents, a singer and pianist on permanent tour, and this feeling of abandonment marked him forever. Left to his own devices, he discovered violence in street fights. Fortunately, Claude escapes through jazz.
