Fangs and Laughter: The Surreal Alchemy of a Teen Vampire Romp

You really gotta wonder what the filmmakers were thinking when they blended fantasy with those classic teen comedies. It's a strange and wonderful mix that somehow works-like having a coffee while contemplating how these genres collide. The result is something gruesomely funny and cleverly inspired, with a tone that hits just right. I've never seen anything quite like it done at this scale, and frankly, it's a massive technical achievement in its own weird way. The bloodsucking hot teenage girls and bad jokes create a fascinating, beautiful chaos that I can't wait for everyone to see.

Especially with so many vampire movies out there, when I finish this one I will struggle to find something that balances humor and horror so perfectly. What a wonderful thing this film exists though. It's nothing like Twilight, just saying;I liked those too, but this is definitely its own beast. The idea that this happens, with all its nasty things going on, is so wonderfully surreal. It's basically just a group of friends giving everything they've got, and the alchemy is special.

Been fans from the start, and having this on repeat for like a week straight when first discovering it was a delight. Back home after watching, and this movie is a fascinating city where so many elements I love dwell. Also, somehow the jokes are even better than the heightened romanticizing of my memories. Thank you, Vamp U, for not wasting my time. It's a huge honor to see such boldness in a tiny little film that could.

Looking through the scenes, I have no memory of how they pulled off some of those effects... I suspect some wizardry and frankly a joke gone much too far. Catching up on all the rad movies out there right now, this one stands out as a lot of fun weirdness. It's an insane movie that hits such a singular tone, and I'm so excited to see where it goes. There's no one I'd rather be exploring this with than the creative minds behind it.

TFW you realize this mix between American Pie and Buffy is not the easiest pitch, but never gets old seeing it on these lists. Life has more meaning creating with people that you love, and that spirit shines through here. Another wonderful day in the office with this film-no better friends and co-workers than those who embrace the weird. We simply love this show and everyone involved, such a special alchemy of amazing storytellers.
